1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using Ekklesia, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
2. Description of Service
Ekklesia is a platform connecting Christian businesses. We provide business directory services and communication tools.
3. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate business information
- Maintain the security of your account
- Use the service for lawful purposes only
- Respect other users and their businesses
- Keep your authentication methods secure (password or Google account)
4. Account Authentication
You may create an account using:
- Email and password
- Google Sign-in (OAuth)
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your authentication method. For Google Sign-in, you must maintain the security of your Google account.
5. Business Listings
All business listings and user accounts are subject to platform admin approval. We reserve the right to:
- Review and approve/deny new registrations
- Grant or revoke verified badges based on legitimacy
- Remove listings that violate our community standards
- Hide businesses from public directory if unverified
Verified Badge: Indicates platform admin confirmation of Christian business legitimacy. Verification is at our sole discretion.
6. Reporting System
You may report inappropriate listings by:
- Clicking "Report Listing" on any business profile
- Selecting a reason (inappropriate content, not faith-based, incorrect info, spam, scam/fraud, other)
- Providing optional additional details
Rate Limiting: You may report each business once per 24-hour period. False or malicious reports may result in account suspension. Reports are reviewed by platform admins.
7. Intellectual Property & License
Ekklesia and all related platform materials, including source code, database structures, schemas, UI designs, assets, and documentation, are proprietary and confidential.
Your access to Ekklesia grants a limited right to use the service for its intended purpose only. No rights are granted to copy, modify, distribute, sublicense, sell, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of any part of the software, except with prior written permission.

8. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-export platform data
- Reproduce, redistribute, or commercialize platform materials
- Bypass security controls or access non-public data
9. Limitation of Liability
This service is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for:
- Interactions between businesses
- The quality of services provided by listed businesses
- Accuracy of business information (users are responsible for their own listings)
- Response time or outcomes of business reports
- Removal or suspension of listings or accounts at admin discretion
- Security issues with third-party authentication (Google OAuth)
- Loss of access due to authentication provider issues
10. Third-Party Services
Our service integrates with:
- Google OAuth for authentication
- Firebase (Firestore, Storage, Authentication) for data storage
- Resend for email delivery
Your use of these third-party services is governed by their respective terms.
11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or your use of Ekklesia are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
